Segment restrictions

  • For each road it is possible to add time-based segment restriction (TBSR).
  • Click Add new for A > B, B > A or Two way.
  • If applicable check Toll road.
  • Save the restrictions by clicking Apply.

There are three types of restrictions, "allowed", "toll free", and "prohibited". We are not using "toll free" restrictions.

Do not assign "allowed" and "prohibited" restrictions to the same direction of the same segment, for a given moment, as the priority of evaluation is unknown.

  • "allowed" restrictions act as white lists: when there at least one allowed rule for a given moment, no traffic is allowed at that moment, except if explicitly allowed.
  • "prohibited" restrictions act as black lists: when there is at least a prohibition for a given moment, all traffic is allowed at that moment, except if explicitly prohibited.

For an example of a time based restriction combined with destination traffic allowed see Complex Restrictions.

Vehicle types

For which vehicle traffic a road is restricted depends on the road sign or physical blockade:

  • Restricted for cars:
  • Restricted for motorcycles:

If poles are blocking car traffic but there are no road signs restricting motor cycle taffic, then the passthrough of motorcycles should be allowed by a TBR.
