1 waze account for 2 devices?

What happens if 1 waze account is used by 2 devices in 2 different locations at the same time? Is it legal or every for example family member needs to register separately? Tnx

I get very strange results if two devices are logged into the same account at the same time. If I try to route it just doesn’t work as sometimes waze thinks I’m somewhere else.

If you are using multiple devices at the same time each Wazer needs their own account. If you are the only one using Waze and have for example and iPhone and Android that you alternate and you are only using one at a time, a single account is fine.

I had two clients running on two phones (droid + iphone) on the same account once just to test which phone was faster and more accurate (Droid beat Iphone hands down). I noticed that I saw myself on the map AND I got double points for the trip. Other than that, no issues.

Yes, there are no technical issue that prohibit you from running two devices on one account. But the OP asked about running them in different locations and as I read your response you had them in the same location. The problems I mentioned are the result of having them in different vehicles.

I appreciate that “Borgholio” conducted his test for experimental purposes and appreciate he being so forthright.

I have seen this happen in Ireland and pinged the wazzer concerned. They responded initially saying company client had been left on by mistake. The person changed their nickname but I decked them easily a second time within 24 hours showing twice and pinged them again, to which they did not respond. They then went anonymous within minutes not realising that they still leave trace as to their identity, if one cared to keep tabs. I believe people are doing this deliberately to cheat and achieve a greater number of points. Such persons do not have the true interest of Waze or the people using Waze at heart and their accounts should be cancelled immediately. I have read that Waze technology can detect this! Is a blind eye being turned? Such actions can only have a detrimental affect on Waze and on its credibility.

We have a small map in Ireland. Some of the exceedingly high weekly scores just cannot be achieved by normal paving, travel and editing. I know because I put in a considerable effort time-wise in all three areas. Some of the extraordinary high scores being recorded weekly are strong indicators that cheating of one sort or another is being employed. I do not see corresponding completion or improvements on the map that should be reflected by such high scores.

I feel that it is time to take a stance with cheating. I do believe it is very prevalent generally not alone in Ireland.

Honesty is the best policy - “get the point - not the points”

The server won’t allow 2 connections and whilst it might appear that candies and munching are double-counting the proper tally is taken by the server and only one set will be counted.

Okay - good, thanks for that.

Does the server identify or take any action while the account is editing and actually at the same time the same account client is out and on a journey in a long-haul truck, taxi or other mode of travel?

Why should that be a problem, it’s not like the phone is surgically attached to it’s owner*.

*unless owner is a teenage girl.

LOL! A little bit of lateral thinking might not go astray! A teenage girl would probably cotton on to what I was saying. But of course your answer could also have other connotations!

Thanks for your effort none-the-less.

Then let me try it. People actually share devices in some families. Some people with too much money have iPad’s just for their cars, so the device most definitely can be driving while someone else is logged in at home editing. Waze is a commuter GPS app not a crime prevention/teenager tracker app.

After logging in a second device, it’s seems that my scoreboard on the first had been frozen. However, when I check it using the dashboard in a browser, it’s all right.

scoreboard on my Android device app always seems to freeze but the website is okay. the app still seems to have these small bugs plaguing it.
