A question about warnings

It would seem that there is some sort of sanction model in force here on the forum, allowing for the issuance of “warnings” to individual users who are deemed to have broken one of the rules. These warnings seem to get attached to the account of the user in question. I would like to learn more about these “warning” sanctions, but can’t seem to find any reference to them on the forum website. I have tried to get some form of clarification through a PM and even on a board, although obviously not in a place that actually gets read and thus unlikely to yield an answer.

Could someone please be so kind as to clarify (one or more of) the following points:

  • Which sanctions are in place for alleged infractions on the code of conduct?
  • What is the nature of the formal “warning” in that system of sanctions?
  • Do these warnings and/or other sanctions expire at some point in time? If so, when? If not, why not?
  • Who decides to issue a sanction to a user?
  • Is there some form of appeal available to a user who believes to have been wrongly sanctioned? If so, please describe. If not, why not?
  • Why haven’t the (rules pertaining to the) sanctions not been published so far?

Rest assured, I’m nothing like Don Quijote and not on any sort of windmill hunt. I just want to understand the rules and sanctions and think they should be clear before something actually hits a fan.

Thanks in advance!

Warnings are used as a part of the WME Beta program, so unless you’re a part of it you won’t find anything.

The rules as per https://www.waze.com/forum/viewforum.php?f=2065 state you’ll receive a temporary or permanent ban. Global Moderators and Admins are quite senior here, and so, you can expect them to use their discretion. However, we’re not going to sit around and count warnings when someone is obviously abusing the system or others.

Action varies from removing the offending post, contacting you about it, contacting your coordinator or global champ about your behaviour, temporary and permanent bans. The more malicious the offence, the higher the penalties.
