Add wildlife to hazard category

Please add a dedicated “Wildlife / Animals” option under Hazards.

Wild animals (e.g. deer, moose, wild boar) are common on many roads, especially at night, and are currently reported under generic hazard types which could be weird for drivers seeing ”object on road” when it is a moose for example, especially for countries where there are a lot of wildlife accidents.

Thanks

Hello and welcome @fitzypopper !

There actually used to be Hazard report types of Roadkill and Animals in the app, but it was removed as few years ago to reduce the number of choices and decisions a driver would have to scroll through to report more common types of hazards. The option is still available in the app, but is only supported through Voice Reporting. Make sure you have the feature enabled in your app settings. You can find out more about how to do that and the commands and types of hazards that are currently available through voice reporting here: Use Google Assistant with Waze - Waze Help

More voice reporting capability is coming soon with Conversational Reporting - stay tuned.

If you’d like to see the tappable hazard report restored to the app, you can add your vote and feedback to one or more of the existing Uservoice suggestions under the keyword “Animal” at the Waze Suggestion Box.

Hope that helps! Since this post was miscategorized as an Editors Community Issue, please be aware that it may be moved or deleted as off-topic. Thanks!
