Anyone from Montreal (and around)

hi all,
Are there a lot of people from montreal (or quebec as in province) ??
we can may organize and request a forum section (under the Canadian section) to discuss problem/solutions/suggestions … pertinent to our region(s)?

Hi,
Just discovered the app yesterday, I love it so far. I’m from Laval, I’ve noticed a lot of missing informations and have already been editing a little bit.

Organizing the work to be done would be great.

hello,
Well I edited a lot (mostly north of saint martin between hyw15 and hyw13) in the laval area and still doing so (from time to time). I decided to do primary streets before anything else (east-west streets for now).

I’m from Sherbrooke City and adding corrections as I can (and as I go). Big problem: French translation is left in the hands of French (from France) people.

State is translated to “comté” (what about province)
Email is translated to “Email”, or worse, “Mail” shudder (proper word is “courriel”)

Any idea on how to internationalize the French used in the translation?

Back on topic: Happy to meet fellow Wazers!

Working in Montreal, living in Ontario. I commute about 140km to and from work each day. I try and do updates once a week which effect my commute. Once updated I will move on to other area’s I am familiar with. I’ll be happy to see other wazers in my area. I know there a a few in Montreal but I don’t think there any that share my route. I often submit reports but have yet to benefit from someone else’s report. I see them on the maps but they are never on my route. Hopefully new users will sign on soon.

Indeed - when I joined Waze it was back in the days when there weren’t even the base maps! I think I may have been the second Canadian user of Waze… we’ve come a long way and by you leading the example for your region and route it will inspire others to join and report.

Cheers,
Rob

Bonjour

Je suis de Laval moi aussi et je voyage toujours avec mon Waze avec moi. Je parcours beaucoup la route et vais souvent souvent en Ontario aussi. Je ne peux pas me passer de Waze car il m’a fait sauver énormément de temps.

Guys, I’ve been doing a hell of a lot of work on Montreal the last few months.

Since yesterday, some jerk named bluebird72 is going around the island adding “QC” or “Quebec” to all the city names.

Is there any way to stop him?

Ugh that’s annoying, considering all the time I spend getting rid of provinces from the City field.

Have you tried to PM him on the forums? It worked for me when I had a question for another editor.

I’m fairly new to Waze >1 year, but I’ve been editing the laurentians like a mad-man.

I’m a truck driver from Montréal (soon to be city bus driver from Laval), love waze, finally got some roads unlocked so I could do some editing.

I’m also a super-user on foursquare, and a general lover of maps and social media in general, so Waze was a perfect fit for me.

Take a look at this:

Cool, thanks!
