Waze was unusable for me initially after iOS updated to 16 in November.
The first thing I noticed was the voice was randomly changing while speaking. The voice was (and still is) set to “Jane,” but it would randomly become a deeper sounding female voice throughout.
Then the GPS would stop recognizing me altogether and I wasn’t on the map and there were no directions. I’d randomly pop back onto the map here and there, but the GPS wasn’t tracking properly. I’d be driving in a straight line down a road, but the map would show me everywhere BUT the road and travel was not shown in a straight line.
Battery drain was heavier, which I’ve also noticed many others reporting with that update.
I was able to use Google Maps fine, so I know my GPS was working properly, although I used a GPS tracker to verify anyway, per a recommendation by Waze. I haven’t changed anything else other than not using it from around mid-November until I tested it last week while on a known route.
The main issues seem to have been resolved; I’m showing on the map, no signal loss, and I’m being tracked properly. I did not test it long enough to determine if the battery issue is resolved.
The voice issue remains, however. I’m wondering if anyone else has noticed this particular issue and if I can correct it.
