I’m interested in becoming a AM for my area of the state. Can somebody guide me in the right direction?
You’ll need to show that you have good editing skills and I would highly suggest getting to rank 2 first. Once you feel you are ready, there is an application to fill out (it’s in the main US forum). There’s also mentoring available if you’d like someone to work with you to help get you up to speed and walk you through what it means to be an AM. Also, stop by the SC editors hangout and say Hi! I’m pretty sure you’ve been added already
edit: I was on my phone earlier, but wanted to add that there is a wiki page on being an Area Manager that can give you some insight into the duties involved. As it mentions, check around the forums as well, as I think that page is rather dated.
