ASR for Secret Moods?

Is the ASR for activating secret moods the voice prompt in Navigate -> Speak Now? or is it within another section of the app? For Android, UK.

yes, it should be said there, just like you report a traffic jam or navigate home.

That is not where you enable ASR. Unfortunately, ASR is not officially supported outside the USA at the moment, however there are ways to enable it. You can either edit your preferences file directly, I believe, or you can navigate to ##@asr to enable/disable it anywhere in the world.

Thank you for the help.

So I’m looking in preferences in the Waze directory on the SD Card now, but I can’t spot the option yet. Do you know what the line is I’m looking for please? or what I should add to the file?

Cheers.

Edit: Ah brilliant crazycaveman, I just realised that you meant literally use Navigate to that string. The app is just restarting to enable the feature now. Thank you!

The process:

I selected Navigate, typed in ##@asr and hit enter
Restarted Waze when prompted
Selected Settings, then Voice Commands, and clicked Enable
Then back on the map screen I swiped the screen for the voice prompt to appear
I said the secret word and it asked me to say OK (albeit that wasn’t obvious)
I said OK and Waze told me I was now a Monster

Sorted! Cheers!!!

At every noise or touch ASR opens the voice prompt now though, seeming a bit eager

When I try to use ASR i get the popup saying “Sorry ASR is not available!” even after me having enabled it.

This is the prompt im getting:

It seems that there is a lotg of people who got this message.
Is this a bug?

message says TTS not available. how about turning TTS on with ##@tts?

yes, you have to enable tts too for asr
you can set up the default voice in preferences (Samantha), after that, it is working.

I get “Uh-oh! TSS is not available” when I activate ASR. ##@tts tells me TTS is activated, but I just keep getting the aforementioned message anyway. Once I got Swedish TTS working (without really knowing how), but it does not respond to the not so secret word. How do I make uk english/ us english TTS work through preferences?

Where do you exactely set up the voice?

My level guidance got only “none” and “minimal”. The “full” dissapear when I activate the TTS.
And I got the same issue than pepsodent.

I activated ASR and TTS with the 2 waze comes and I still get “uh oh TTS is not available popup”

Even tried changing the voice to get a redownload of the voice prompts and it didn’t help.

WHAT IS THE SECRET WORD??? PLEASE!!! ??? !!!

It is typed within the preferences file in the Waze directory (on the SD Card, or internal memory), and fits the clue and long letter count they gave us. Its not too hard to find and if anyone did give the answer the post would be removed, so hopefully you’ll spot it

I dont use an SD card with my iPhone 4s. How else can I find it?

I’m not sure if you can browse the internal memory on the iPhone? I can’t seem to find the original clues on their Facebook page…

There is a way, you need some free software to do it… The name of the software is somewhere in the fourm (I’d tell you, but I forget what it’s called)

Since someone has already said it’s in the file system, I don’t think I’m giving much else away. I had a quick search, but it seems like most of the easy options to examine the iPhone root file system only work on a jailbroken iPhone.

However, you can find the information in one of your iTunes backup files, but you’ll need a hex editor with a search capability to examine the file.

I’ll point you to Alan’s post in the Secret Mood topic:

I’ve just got a new phone, the HTC One X+, and was surprised to see the Purple Monster had not carried over from having activated it back on my previous mobile (HTC Desire Z, also Android).

So I went to recreate the process, and get to the point where I type ##@asr into Navigate, hit enter and it says “ASR Feature is disabled! Please restart”. I click on OK but then Waze scrolls round in a circle without end saying “Searching…”.

If I reboot the app I find that ASR is still set disabled.

Is this a common problem? and Is there a way round it please?

Have you tried again? The ##@asr instruction is a toggle so if it’s already active that will disable it. From your description it sounds like that’s what’s happened.

Are you in North America?
