Is anyone else having problems with alerts on iOS? I find that it is now hit and miss whether Waze will give me an audio alert for hazards, red light cameras, speed cameras, police etc… while I am listening to my podcasts. Used to be very reliable. I have the settings set to alert me of everything but in the last few months, I have found it missed more alerts than it gave. When I switch over to the Waze app, the alert is visibly on the screen but there was no audio alert given.
Very frustrated user here as this is the primary reason I keep Waze running in the background while driving.
Good morning, I think that audio is only provided by the actual running app. When you switch over to another, the former app will be stopped and also the audio from this app.
That is not how it used to work. Weird thing is that the first red light camera I hit, gives me an audible alert even while listening to my podcast app while running Waze in the background. But then all future red light cameras are silent. I’m totally confused and shocked that I seem to be the only one with this problem. Is nobody else having these issues?
You are not the only one. Me too, and a friend of mine too. When I uninstall WAZE and then reinstall, then it works, but only once! After the first use WAZE is totally silent at speed cameras (only a small inconspicuous pop-up)
Other warnings now only give a ping as sound. No voice warning anymore
Only the navigation sound (voice) is working fine.
