Average Speed Cameras Birmingham area

Can someone add the following average speed cameras please, the details are here:

http://www.birmingham.gov.uk/speedcameras

Also, on the A38 Bristol Road between Pebble Mill Rd and Edgbaston Park road someone has set up an average speed camera zone. This is not an average speed camera zone!

Link for A38 problem: https://www.waze.com/editor/?env=row&lon=-1.91708&lat=52.45143&layers=197&zoom=4&mode=0&mapProblemFilter=0&mapUpdateRequestFilter=0&venueFilter=0 (hope that’s right)

If you need any more information, please let me know and I’ll update, just not confident of updating the map myself.

Many thanks

Hi there, and welcome to the Waze forums!

I believe I’ve located all the stretches in the link and set average speed cameras for all the segments. That’s a nice catch just in time. If we’re lucky, the changes will go live in the app on Monday.

I haven’t done anything about the cameras themselves on the Waze map. Until we get new Google Street View images covering the area, there is no way for me to identify the locations of the camera sites. When we do, we would put cameras there, as otherwise users will simply keep reporting them until they are in place.

If you are local and can identify the camera positions, you can add cameras to the map yourself in the editor. If you then post back here, I can make sure your cameras are locked in place and get rid of any old ones.

I’ve also removed the incorrect ASC zone from Bristol Road.

Many thanks for this, I noticed the zones on the A38 Bristol Rd were correct this morning when heading to the Uni.

Ok cool. I can identify where the cameras are over time as I will encounter the Birmingham ones fairly often, as these ones are higher up attached to lamp posts, so will have a look at adding the cameras myself over the coming weeks where poss, and of course if I can remember by the time I get home or get a spare 5 at work.

Again many thanks for the swift modification, and yes, good timing, the signs said they went live on the 30th June so guess they delayed it, but getting them added for this morning when they actually did go live as hopefully helped a few people getting caught out.
