Requirements to join
To become a localizer, you need to:
- Have a strong understanding of Waze products
- Have at least 6 months of experience as an editor or a Beta Tester
- Be fluent in both English and the target language
How to apply
You’ll first need approval from your language coordinator. Please contact them directly to express your interest.
Tip: The best way to get in touch with your coordinator is via Waze Chat. Look for their username and send a direct message.

Post approval
After you’re approved, be sure to ask your coordinator about the Localization Discord Channel. This is a great place to stay up-to-date on the latest news and discussions within the localization community!
Note about languages
Currently, we’re not seeking new localizers for the following top 5 languages, as most translations are managed by linguists:
- Hebrew
- French
- Portuguese [BR]
- Spanish [ES]
- Spanish [LATAM]
