Yeah ! This is great.
Not saying she is the only one, annickdw did a great job.
blushing now - I really wasn’t the only one, often bumping with Steven in certain areas… and others have been helping too - even thanks to the UR’s of the next days to correct my faults
but I must admit: I went biking yesterday nearby Brussels, it was AWESOME to bike in unknown territory and recognising streetnames :o a rotonde  or even certain dirtroads :? we went wrong one time, and I immediately recognised the roadworks and where I was
This time an overview of the evolution in the last 2 weeks :

Which actions can be taken to make the map more green? I’ve been adding a lot of pedestrian boardwalks the last week, but I haven’t seen any result in the live map. In the editor, the roads remain red.
Is adding numbers to the streets useful?
The red/green colour is based on how many segments are present, and how many of them have a streetname and cityname.
It’s not 100% representing a ‘good map’, since there are also turning restrictions to be set, directions of segments, … but it gives some indication.
As a remark to your post, adding pedestrian boardwalks shouldn’t be the primary concern and most of the time these also don’t help the routing/navigation experience.
If segments keep turning up red, then it’s most probably due to not filling up the cityname and streetname, or if they don’t have one, marking these fields as ‘none’.

thinking… adding lots of ‘pedestrians’ and ‘parking lot roads’ with no cityname or streetname, could limit segments to turn fully green ?
Correct.
But You have to add A LOT to make this happen ![]()
And another update:

Update:

Ouch… there’s still a ot of work in Wallonia…
Gotta have a ride around to unlock the edit and get back to work asap
That would be great!
We sure do need to do some work there!
I don’t know if somebody is already coaching you?
If you have some insights in the editing, we can get you some area so you don’t need to drive everywhere…
But first, you would need to have a coach, so we know you are familiar with the guidelines…
Well i don’t really have any coach except you for the moment.
Don’t know who’s who actually.
If anyone speaking french to make it easier for both and willing to coach me is around it’s ok for me.
If there’s nobody english is fine for me, it’ll make me remember my studies. For dutch i still got to train a lot tu be fluent.
About the zone it would be nice if i could edit Liège and North of belgian Luxembourg (to Marche-en-Famenne).
I’ve started to work on my place (Trooz and around). I’ll work place by place to keep some logic in my work.
I’ve seen some wrong street name but they’re level 3 cause they’re on main streets (including my street missnamed Noirvaux where it should be Noir"i"vaux).
I don’t think we already have some higher level native french speaking somebody… so we’ll try it in english… ![]()
But who knows, you can become one of the first native french speaking coaches / area managers / region managers/country managers ![]()
Give me some more permalinks of things you edited, so i can follow up. ![]()
It things are locked at higher level, you can always multiselect the segments and post them in the unlock subforum… would be to bad to let some faults on the map, especially if you live there… ![]()
SI besoin je parle français, je commence a avoir une bonne expérience de l’éditeur et des règles en vigueurs en Belgique.
Donc n’hésite pas sur le forum ou en mp
@foxrpg … thx! Would be great if you could come by more often…
i notice there are quite more french speaking belgians coming to the forum, the last couple of days/weeks… I try in french, but like you notice… ![]()
je rejoins foxrpg… je n’édite plus énormément depuis quelques mois (depuis l’arrivée de notre petite fille), mais je passe lire souvent ce qu’il se passe sur la planète Waze. ![]()
Au besoin, je reste joignable par mail. ![]()

update:

The gif in the opening post has also been updated, to get an overview…
Dear Community,
This is my first post on the forum, I’m new (registered the 2nd of October) to Waze and I really love it (of course!). I’m based in Wallonia and busy editing the following areas :
I have more than 1500 editing in two weeks, let’s hope this will contribute to the community.
This is a bit a pity that maps are not updated more often in the application. Is there any plan ? Is there someone who needs to validate the changes before being live ?
Thanks a lot to all for the good work, this is really a great application ! Especially since I can run it on my Blackberry Z10 ![]()
Take care.
Fred.
