Good morning all. I have the Waze app, but never really used it for a long distance travel. I’m moving to Summerville, SC from Massachusetts. I’ll be pulling a cargo trailer, and would like to avoid New York due to restrictions with a trailer. Is there a good alternate route avoiding that area? Through Pennsylvania?

Unfortunately, waze doesn’t take cargo trailers for routing. This feature isn’t available. I couldn’t help

Thank you! is it possible to edit the route just to avoid the NYC area?. I have no idea how to alter the route that is posted.

While navigating, you can add a stop to your route that avoids the area you want to bypass.

I-81 to I-84 via Scranton PA and Hartford CT or I-81 to I-88 to I-90 via Binghamton NY and Albany NY. You may have to enter some intermediate destinations into Waze as waypoints as it may not be able to automatically route you around the greater NYC area.
