Can people see my speed?

I’m am new to waze and think it is a cool idea. I was wondering the information that is stored and relayed to others. Like if I’m speeding or not. I would hate for a cop to log in and see that I’m speeding down the hiway and decides to wait for me.

It just gives your speed as say under 50mph it never says what your actual speed is

A law enforcement officer, or anyone for that matter, would have a hard time finding you via waze. There is a 2 to 5 minute delay from your actual position to the position shown on everyone else’s waze app.

it’s actually beamed right to local police stations in realtime.

Lol behave :stuck_out_tongue:

They are kidding!

Only curiosity can see you in real time

Thanks. As long as it doesn’t list me as going under 100.

The highest it says is over 40mph so I wouldn’t worry. Besides, what court would allow waze as evidence of speeding?

What person would provide Waze as evidence for not speeding?

You can check your speed from the previous trips function but I would never use it in court…

It has been, and I believe, successfully.

Thanks for your replies. I live in a small area where there is one 20 mile road in and out of town. Granted our cops are dumb as rocks but there might be one that gets curious and decides to figure out that this waze thing is all about and try to be sneeky.

Luckily they use radar guns from the dukes of hazard days and I can pick them up from a good distance.

I have never seen a speed over “55 mph”.

I suppose Waze calculates your average speed over a number of segments. Which leads to a lower Speed displayed on the client, if another Wazer is looking at you.

Although this speed was 100% legal, I think my speed was still reported to others as “more than 40 km/h”. Looking at the current live map, I don’t see any speeds reported above 55, which is way to slow for freeways. Furthermore these speeds are only rough figures and appear delayed. So no need to worry, that anyone’s gonna catch you speeding through Waze even if some Muppet Show court on this planet would accept that as a legal proof.
You shouldn’t be speeding nevertheless!
