Not many people in Australia actually call these places what Waze calls them in the app, we should change the names within Australia similar to how you can change from imperial to metric for measurements. The words to change are specifically:
‘Gas Station’ to either ‘Petrol Station’ or ‘Service Station’.
‘Parking lot’ to ‘Car Park’

Thank you for reaching out to us regarding Waze terminology in the app. I can confirm we have localised the wordings in the Waze app. Specifically, the category for petrol stations is called “fuel” and the category for car parks is called “parking”.
Please check your app language to ensure you’ve selected English Australia. You can check that by going into Settings > General > Language > select “English (Australia)”.
While you’re in settings, you can also update your navigation voice instructions to be an Australian voice with specific Australian localisation. You can check this by going into Settings > Voice and sound > Waze voice > select “English (Australia) - Kylie” for the best experience that includes street names.
