Canberra Airport outdoor car parks and ACT Map Problems

Hi Canberra Wazers,
There’s been a few ‘Map Problems’ dotted across the ACT in the last 24 hrs. Many of them seem to be due to quite old user drives not matching current road configurations. I’ve marked these as ‘not identified’ because I read on a forum post (I forget exactly where) that this in effect means ‘not a problem’.

Anyway there were a couple of Map Problems showing in the Canberra airport outdoor car park area (on the right or outh eastern side). The problem indicated there was a missing road segment, but as the car park hadn’t been drawn it looks to me that the wazer was snapped to one road, then let free to drive on an unmarked area or car park and then snapped to another road when they got near the edge of the car park. So to fix, I’ve drawn the perimeter of the car park. I’ve done this by referencing several sources including memory and this map. This map also showed a few road names so I’ve added most of those. One I didn’t add was the main one that loops around the lower level of the terminal which the linked map shows as ‘Terminal Ave’, yet the Waze map has ‘Ulinga Pl’. Any suggestions on whether to leave as is or change. That’s Q1.

Q2. There are a couple of Roads that are split dual carriageways but seems totally unnecessary. I propose that they be ‘unsplit/merged’ into a single carriageway. Anyone not OK with that?

Q3. A request really… If you are out near the airport and have time, could you do a lap of the car parks and then edit the car parks I’ve just drawn to better align them. What I’ve drawn is only approximate.

Q4. If you are a Level 3, could you please join the car park entry and exit for the north western outdoor car park to the ramp segment. Should this really be a ramp segment? Or should it become a street at some earlier point?

Done the ramp for Q4, also added the access road from the roundabout into the carpark.

Will do a run around tomorrow on the terminal avenue point when I pull in (working at Brindabella Pk), I know some of the road signs conflict with the CBR Airport map you linked and figure signs win (easier for drivers on the ground).

Go for it on the George Tyson merge in my opinion, there would be minimal road data lost there, certainly no meaningful traffic information given the low use, plus the more simple the better!

Thanks Richard

Update: I’ve merged the road segments as proposed at Q2.
