Cannot use Waze on new device at the same time?

I just bought a new phone and installed the latest Waze, along with my old phone and the new phone running Waze, it says Start a new drive on this phone? And it wants me to switch with Use here, which just goes to a blue screen and never switches. The old phone works perfectly.

My goal is simply to manually transfer my recent trips which are not part of the account. I do also use two phones in parallel as it is a great way to see how well the GPS signal works on a new phone. I no’t expect issues, but sometimes if helps find them,

Clearly this is a version issue as my older phone has no issues. I can transfer from my old one to the new one. Does anybody know which version introduced this and if there is a way to turn it off?

I have tried a few more time and it the waiting screen is not always forever as eventually does go away, but often fails. I did notice the background is now gray vs blue, perhaps night mode?

Basically if I leave my phone at home with Waze running, I cannot use it on my new phone 9/10 times.

And it gets better. I have seen it come up with only the one new phone. I launch Waze, switch to messaging to find an address, and back to Waze to see the same error. Not as often, but I only just started using it.

Waze can only be run on a single device at a time. It should work on either of your devices, but only one at a time. This is to prevent misuse, like getting points and drive area from multiple devices.
