Car stereo-what do you use?

I’ve used waze for over 4 years. My current set up is just an aux cable to the stereo. I’d like to change out the system in my car for a Bluetooth model and I want to be able to use the display to report and enter addresses, etc so that my phone can stay in my bag. I’m using an iPhone.
Let me know what system you’re using and any pros/cons or reviews you have. I’ve looked at the Pioneer AVH-X1800S. It looks good but would it work how I want?
I appreciate any advice anyone has.
See you on the road

I use a 2 din android radio (aliexpress or ebay). It’s a 8 inches screen with wifi build in + bluetooth build in + external gps antena + external 3g dongle + 2 microsd slots

Can add reader view camara + usb Web camara for road trip record.

Android 4.4.4 and installed Waze in it. No problem at all.

Cons: 30 sec startup
Plus: all in one no extra cable required

If you’re eyeing a Pioneer head unit, make sure the head unit supports MirrorLink and its equivalent (CarPlay, etc.). In 2014, we saw these features at the more expensive top-end spectrum of the market but it has been slowly trickling down to more affordable models. That way you can see your Waze from your head unit screen rather than peeking over to your (smaller) cellphone screen while driving.

As a warning, at least for now (despite lots of asks) waze does not support carplay :frowning:
