I can’t seem to find the page where I can change the username given to me by Waze for these forums. Why isn’t it the same username I use with the app? And why would Waze assume anybody would want to use their full name in a forum full of strangers?!?
Can someone please tell me how to change my username? Thanks!
As far as I know it is the same username you use with the app. What happens when you login with your username here on the forums? I don’t know how to change your username outside of the app.

My app username I was able to choose. My username in these forums was assigned to me. That’s what I need to change. Nobody can tell me how to do this??!

You said “Why isn’t it the same username I use with the app?” which suggest you have two usernames. Try to login on the forum with the other one, the one you use with the app and tell us what happens please.
I changed my username according to the link above. it did change in the app. but the “searching network…” in red shows up on top of the screen.
A few minutes later, a message popsup saying that my username is not correct.
So I closed and reopened the app, it asks me to login again. when I do only the old username works. the new one is lost.
how can I get that username changed?
How account management works is not really the community’s best area of expertise since we have no access at all to that database or anything technical about it, only staff does.
I suggest you try the methods in the Waze help (written by staff) or to contact staff directly. But we really can’t help with accounts as we are only Waze users, just like you are.
I already reached out to waze by submitting a bug report. so far I didn’t hear back yet. now I’m trying to see if anyone else has the same issue.
