Changing email says successful, but then it continues to show old email in my profile?

I do the following:
(1) In app -> View Profile
(2) Account and login
(3) Click edit next to email address which has an old address in it
(4) enter new email
(5) sign into email and get the verification link
(6) click link and get a 6 digit code
(7) enter 6 digit code in app
(8) it says successful and brings me back to map
(9) I go back to view profile > account and login and it still has my old address

why?

Working with Waze staff through support is the best way to resolve your issue.

I encountered the same problem, but upon attempting to address it a second time, I successfully resolved the issue.
