Heads up - Traffic closed in both directions for Mt Pleasent due to North Landing bridge closure Thursday Nov 21 from 10 am to 2 pm. Signage up.

Official City of Chesapeake post : (17) Chesapeake Roads on X: “:warning:TRAVEL ADVISORY​:warning:The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) will close the North Landing Bridge to vehicle traffic on 11/21 10am-2pm to allow for emergency repairs. A marked detour will be in place throughout the closure. Please follow posted signage in the area.” / X

In my opinion traffic normally takes Elbow road as the alternate -
I hope this is posted in the right way and the right place. If not, let me know.

(sigh) Figured you already knew but wanted to post since it was not on the VDOT website.
I think the blue checkmark was hit so the post is marked as done. If not let me know.

Question - Have you gotten word about the five hour road closure in Great Bridge - Saturday Dec. 6th for the yearly Christmas parade.
Parts of the main road South Battlefield Blvd and main side road Mt Pleasent will be closed.

Thanks for the post. The closure has already been scheduled. The map editors don’t determine the detour. The routing server does that. But you are correct, typically it does route down Elbow Rd.

Yes, the routing server does a good job. Using side roads until the last exit/entrance to get back on the highway.
I heard Google Maps was going to start scraping Wayz data and think that it is wrong.
