Today, I encountered a situation while I was chasing objects with misnamed cities. I got to the point where my target city’s polygon was overlapped by the neighbouring city’s. It would have been very helpful to be able to select only my city’s polygon for display.
Additionally, a drop down menu of the different cities visible in the current map window would be helpful for anyone doing this kind of map maintenance.

Permalink for example. The selected gas station turned out to be the culprit here.

Have a look at the Colour Highlights for Segments script created by Timbones. It is very useful for what you are trying to do.

That being said, I still think there would be value in making the cities layer more versatile.
