City of Gilroy, CA Map Data

Hello!

I’m reaching out on behalf of Blue Raster, a GIS consulting firm currently working with the city of Gilroy, California to create an authoritative, surveyed dataset of the city’s pedestrian and bicycle pathways. The City has requested we submit this dataset to various GPS and navigation applications and websites. We’ve processed the survey data for these pathways into an authoritative vector dataset; how can we go about submitting this data to Waze?

Let me know if you have any questions or need clarification on anything.

Katya,
The simple answer is we don’t map bicycle or pedestrian paths in most cases.

Waze is not a walking or riding app. We map those types of paths to keep data from people who leave Waze running from polluting nearby roads if necessary. There are a few cases where we might map them for proper routing. Otherwise, we leave them off the map.
