Map Editors Community Malaysia Place Update Requests

Hi all,

Would like to apologise upfront if this is not the correct place to ask this… my intention is to just clean up my business location in Waze. In reality there is only one physical shop but search results show four (three are in the wrong locations).

Business name is Kaledi Sdn. Bhd. (correct address: Jalan Miri By Pass, Miri, Sarawak).

Hope someone can show me how to go about removing the other locations to avoid confusion.

Thank you for reporting the problem.
For your information, we be only one place named Kaledi Sdn Bhd at Jalan Gardenia. It there’s any other result having the same name?Yes it may happen if other developer did create one. usually it come from Google or Four Square in which Waze do integrate to supplement our limited place database.

If your think the editor’s edit was wrong, No worries, We can easily do the update of the place. BUT for other places done by other developer, like Google or Four Square, you need to contact the respective developer to let the know about the wrong location.

What you can do for our editor to make change is to provide us with the exact location of the place in question.
How to do that:

  1. You can go to our WME (Waze Map Editor). Log in with your Waze ID. After log in, now you can add, the correct place. Please remember few thing, Fill in the name of the place as written on Signboard with cap lock accordingly.
  2. You can also use your mobile phone to add the place.
    Condition:
    i: Not Blur
    ii. NO faces
    iii. MUST be the exterior of the place with place can be seen. ( For easy user to know its the correct place)
    iv. Must be very close to the target. (approx 10meter). Picture taken from far will not give the correct location. Picture taken will tagged to the location of your mobile. Eg. If you want to add JPJ Miri, from Sri Miri Camp. It will the location where you take the picture ie at Sri Miri Camp.

Finally, for easy communication, I welcome you to join WazeBorneo Local FacebookCommunity It will give almost an immediate response from the local user/editor.

Thanks for your response on this. Actually the correct place is already in Waze.

Does it mean that if I managed to fix the location error (duplicate) in Google and Foursquare, then it will be also updated in Waze?

Really? The correct location is at Jalan Gardenia. ( if I m wrong same building row with AmBank)
Yes. You need to remove the wrong direct from 4Sq/ Google. Not just duplicate. Its can be totally very far from the actual location.

That is why we ve to be very strict with our editor/ place reporter. We try our very best to avoid such wrong location.

Tips: To know if your search location come from Waze. You can edit it or there’s pic.

Hi Pak Syah,

The one you’re referring (Jalan Gardenia) is the old location. It is currently being occupied by Feruni Retail Store, Miri (already in Waze).

Kaledi has moved to Eastwood Industrial since 2011, hence which is why I wish to remove it from Jalan Gardenia to prevent misunderstanding.

I am currently working with Foursquare and Google Maps to remove it. Hopefully it gets approved soon so that all the maps can reflect the correct data.

I m not sure about google. For Waze it usually takes few day for the map tiles update.

I think, by now you know, the reason why you see wrong location.

Please help us to do a good place update for other place too.

You have create multiple poi Kaledi Sdn Bhd at Lot 1978, Eastwood Valley Industrial Park, Jalan Miri By Pass at google map. I will assist you to remove duplicate poi.
