Closed Road Update Needed (Austin, TX area)

I was not in a position to report it though the app and I can’t for the life of me figure out how to report it via the map editor…

Just southeast of Austin, TX, Colton Bluff Springs Road is closed to through traffic between FM1625 and McKinney Falls Parkway. I found a bit of info at this link: https://myeastonparkhome.com/tag/colton-bluff-springs-road/

“I drove to the future site of the elementary school and Colton-Bluff Springs Rd is closed to through traffic and is closed completely, 3/4 of the way to the site, so I had to trek the remaining distance on foot. Site markers are staked throughout the field on the NW side of the road, as seen below. The markers may designate where the road will eventually be moved to, but that is just a guess.”

I have attached a screenshot from the online map editor and noted the closure points. Please let me know if I can be of further assistance.

Closures can only be created by editors rank 3 and higher in the United States. Hopefully a Texan or someone with area there will pop in and add this, or a mod will move this thread to the Texas forum. Thanks for all the detailed info!

@OrneryTX

Thanks for the report. For now, I have added a two week closure to the road. Would you happen to know how long the closure will last? Are you in the area where you could keep an eye on it for us, so we can shorten or extend the closure as necessary?

The South Central Region would like to invite you to join us in our Slack team. It is easier to communicate with other editors from your region and get assistance in making quality map edits. Please fill out this form: http://bit.ly/2i3Yuij - An auto-invite will be sent to you within a few minutes.

Unfortunately that is not an area that I travel with any frequency so I won’t be able to monitor the closure. If I get a chance, I’ll do some more digging online and see what information I can find.

I did submit the form for Slack. Thanks for the heads up on that.

Thanks. We’ll see you over on the Texas Slack channel!
