Condos with units of even/odd on same side of road

I live in a condo where one building is at the end of the driveway that is off of the NAMED street, which is a private road within the complex. Access to all of the building’s units is from the driveway, not the NAMED street.
How should the driveway be created, paved road, private street, something else?
How are the street numbers assigned? I trued to assign using street numbers, but even and odd numbers are all on the same side of the driveway, and map editor doesn’t like that.
