I ran across this page in the wiki today; http://www.waze.com/wiki/index.php?title=Road_naming_by_state

According to that page we should be using the syntax “County Hwy xxx”. I propose to change this to the short form “CR-xxx”.

I like the short forms to save room in the client. However there are not really any county roads in my area so I don’t know if I am really entitled to make the decision. Could someone who has those in their area please chime in.

I think that page is wrong.

I’ll give it a couple more days and if there are no replies I’ll change the page.

I agree with the CR-XXX idea. Seems like a good way of keeping down the clutter on the map and still gets the point across. Desoto County doesn’t use them (that I am aware of) but many of the neighboring ones do.
