There are probably more than 200 official county routes throughout California. How are we to name them?
The Highway naming/USA wiki says we are to use CR-##–which Waze speaks as “County Road”.
But they are officially known by the State of California as “County Route”.

Since we have no CA guidance, then I would think the US guidance would be best. I think most users will not notice a difference between County Road or County Route, but I could be wrong. I would also think that most County Routes in the Golden State, would have a local name that should be used before the CR- name.
I hope that answers your question. But maybe somebody else we have a different opinion.
I think it does! Its a minor discrepancy that probably doesn’t matter, but I wasn’t sure if anyone knew. So thanks!
