L2 Application

Hello,

I’ve had my Waze account for 11 years. I contributed to the map back then; however, for the past 2 years, every time I want to make a modification, I find myself blocked because the Lock is at 1. My profile shows “Level 1”, but I think I need to be Level 2 to be able to edit these features (I can’t really find much information about this).

Since I mainly contribute to OpenStreetMap (210,000 map changes, 488 days of activity, 14,000 changesets), it doesn’t bother me too much not being able to contribute to Waze, but it is very frustrating to see data remain uncorrected for years when I should be able to do it. I’ve also made some contributions to Google Maps.

I believe I’m in the right place to request an upgrade to Level 2. However, if my message is not in the right place, please let me know and, if possible, tell me where I should create it.

Have a nice day.

Hi,

I’ll let you check out the Wazeopedia page explaining the level system

Welcome to the Waze map editor community, bear in mind it’s not the same thing as OSM, and happy editing

Hello InstantT,

Thank you for your reply; if I’ve understood correctly, I need to make 3,000 edits to reach rank 2. I have no idea what edits I could make (I’m at 211), so I’m just going to stop contributing to Waze and wait for others to make the corrections.

I’ve made modification requests in the past, but they don’t give me any edit points, so I’m stuck.

If you want to make some changes, at https://waze.com/en-US/editor?env=row&lat=48.71009&lon=2.15768&marker=true&zoomLevel=18, you need to add the address to “Omega”: “1 Rue Pierre-Gilles de Gennes” (I was able to modify the road address). It also seems possible to link the data to Google Maps here: Google Maps. As well as the parking lot, on the west side towards the bottom of Rue Pierre-Gilles de Gennes (I added it on Google Maps).

Have a nice day.

Levels and roles are earned over time and, above all, through experience

There are plenty of great edits to be made on Waze, even at your level, and a wonderful French community of editors to join,

Come on, stay, please :folded_hands:
