We are fed up with Waze constantly routing us on I465 when there are much better options. We would like the ability to select ‘no highways’ for a portion of our route then ‘highways’ for the rest.
We attempted to get a route from Fishers, IN to Maroa, IL and it was a royal pain. I465 is not a good option.

I live in Fishers. I agree that 465 is not always a good option, but outside of rush hour it is usually your best option. I don’t know what you consider as better options, maybe 70?
You can always manually set avoid highway for a portion of your route and then enable it later
When heading northwest, there are many state highways that are a better option. Fishers to I74 west its better to go IN 32.
They are an option, but often slower. I tried some route suggestions at different times of day, and taking 32 from Noblesville or Westfield was low down on the list. One of the fastest options was taking 465 to 65 to Lebanon and 32 over to 74
Waze is only going to show you 3 route options so they may not always show, but you can always ask for more route suggestions when you’ve traveled further along your preferred route.

Waze is always going to offer you what it thinks is the best route based on historical segment times and current traffic conditions. it will also offer you two alternate routes if you open the route overview, which you can choose if you prefer them.
There’s nothing we can change in the app to force a particular route from a particular location to another particular location - All we can do is make sure everything is mapped accurately and let the Waze routing server give you its best suggestion.
But that said - Waze (or any other navigation assistance app) can only suggest routes for you to follow. They are tools intended to help drivers find their destination, but ultimately if you don’t like the offered route or routes, you can choose your own path as the one behind the wheel.
