Hi there! I’m hoping to find a way to disable the “continue straight” instructions I get on my drives. It doesn’t really help me, as I’m not going to turn or exit if the app doesn’t tell me to. I don’t need to be told to continue straight, I’m going to do that until I’m told to turn…
Plus, while it is telling me to “continue straight”, it hides the distance to my next actual turn, which I like to be able to see, especially if it is within a mile or less of the “continue straight” notification. I have missed exits because of this.
So basically, I’d like the ability to turn it off or just make it not hide the total distance to my next turn. If the “continue straight” must be there (for whatever reason), maybe the distance to next turn could be underneath it? So it could show something like, “continue straight - then turn right in 2.4 miles”.

We understand your pain, and it’s for this reason we try to minimize the intentional use of Continue Straight guidance. However there is also an elusive bug many of us have seen, (myself included) which tends to produce this prompt in places where it shouldn’t be,
Can you give us a pointer as to places where you’ve seen the prompt come up, and where it disappeared?
We may ask you to report this to staff as a bug, rather than here in the Colorado forum.
I don’t know specific places, sorry. It happens fairly often when I’m driving on I-25, and sometimes on Santa Fe. I don’t always notice because I don’t always have voice directions turned on. I’m sure that there have been times when it has come up and I didn’t notice because I didn’t look at the screen at that time. Honestly I think it is working as the developers intended, I’m just upset that I can’t find a way to turn it off.
I’m not sure how to report this as a bug. Can you help me out with that?
So yeah, I know this is my post from nearly 2 months ago, but I’m still getting these “continue straight” instructions when I really don’t need or want them. Just today, on Santa Fe southbound, I wanted to know how many more miles to go before my next turn, so I can decide when I should move over to a different lane. I looked down at my phone and there’s a “continue straight” with no mention of how far until my actual turn.
Well my turn was closer than I thought, and I wasn’t able to get over in time because of the “continue straight”, which resulted in me missing my turn. No, I’m sorry, I don’t remember exactly where it told me to “continue straight”, but my turn was on Oxford.
I really, truly hate this feature. Everything else with Waze is great, it’s just this one feature that is ruining it for me.
On the last reply, it mentioned reporting it to staff as a bug, and I said I don’t know how to do that, but never got a response. I spent the last 30 minutes googling and I can’t find a forum or anything where I can report a bug. Maybe I’m just stupid, but at least I’m not as stupid as people who need to be told to continue straight on a straight road.
When the continue happens, tap the report button and submit a map issue. When a local editor follows up, respond via the inbox in the app or follow the link in the e-mail notification to use the web interface.
This will be the easiest way to help us identify where it’s happening. Without knowing where, there isn’t much we can do to help.
It’s not any specific location, the “continue straight” happens at some point on nearly every highway drive I take. I just want to disable the “feature”. I’m sure it’s working as intended, and the editors have set things up correctly on their end. I just don’t want the notifications to “continue straight.”
It’s not like the editors are just going to remove all the “continue straight” locations. This feature might be useful to some, but it definitely isn’t useful to me. If there’s no way to disable it, then that really sucks and is a big oversight.
There is definitely a bug that can add a continue prompt where there isn’t one mapped, so it would still be helpful if you submitted a report at the point this happens.
If you want to suggest the ability to disable continue prompts, the best thing to do is add it to Uservoice.
