Question about the numbering of remote houses

Hi Wazers!

In the last few days, I’ve started making edits and improvements in the areas near where I live. For now, I’m focusing on correcting streets and adding some missing neighborhoods, as well as numbering houses.

However, I’ve encountered a similar situation several times now, so I’d rather ask here in case anyone could advise me

I’ve come across this case several times: a house that belongs to “Street X”, but is not directly connected to it, while it is connected to “Street Y”. If I number the house with the correct street, Street X, then the routing point on the road appears quite far away, whereas if I were to add it as Street Y, it would appear correctly, but the final address would be wrong.

What is usually done in these cases? Create a small private/pedestrian path with Street X and add it there? Leave the houses unnumbered?
When I’ve seen these situations, they are usually individual and specific houses rather than something very common.

Thank you very much!

You can create a place → residence/house at the entrance of the house (next to the minor road segment).

It’s a purple triangle, and in that spot you put the full address with the number included and that’s it.

In some countries, this is the way the community has decided to add house numbers, but it’s useful for situations like the ones you’ve explained, where the entrance or vehicle entry point is via a side or adjacent street.
