Questions about crossing instructions

Good afternoon,

I have a serious concern. It turns out that during the week I use Presidente Errázuriz street to connect with Av. Américo Vespucio Sur and then head towards Escuela Militar. The issue is that Waze ALWAYS tells me to turn right and go all the way around to Martín de Zamora, then turn left and head back down Américo Vespucio.

When the correct route is simply to go straight on Presidente Errázuriz and turn left to take the correct direction. I’ve attached a map image with a red arrow showing where Waze tells me to go, and in green I’ve marked the route I take.

Additionally, I’m leaving the permalink:

Hello.

I know the spot, although I don’t pass through very often, but depending on the time of day it can be hard to get through on the first light cycle.

I just tried it (almost noon on Sunday) and the route I got was via the green arrow.

It’s likely that the time you usually go through is during congestion, and that by doing that maneuver via the red arrow you save half a traffic light cycle.

Next time it happens, please take a screenshot in the app and let us know.

Thanks!

I have a second theory as to why it’s taking you to Martín de Zamora: Could it be that it’s trying to route you via the AVO1 highway? The entrance is on Vespucio just past Martín de Zamora. What is your destination?

Hi witoco,
Today I was able to take the route and capture the Waze suggestion. As you can see, it’s sending me on a detour to reach the same destination (Vespucio Oriente).
