Hello good people,
I am new to Waze and I would like to add some EV charging locations on the map, but I receive this message, “You do not have permission to make some of the changes”.
Can somebody help please?

Hi @sean_mehr ,
This is likely because you are a new editor and may not yet have permission. It might also depend on where exactly you are placing it. If you are placing it outside your editable area (which is a layer you can enable in the layer menu) then that could be why as well.
Thank you for the response Jaden. I am new to Waze, and I was wondering if you could shed some light on what I should do to acquire that permission. Should I use Waze while driving for a while before getting that permission?
In the meantime I will try the layer thing you mentioned.

To gain experience and advance permissions its based on edits. There are daily limits for new editors, but with quality edits, the L1 > L2 increase happens pretty quickly.
Place updates* are really good ventures, and I tend to recommend find a commercial complex nearby and fill in/update the details. A userscript called WME Place Harmonizer greatly assists with chain detail harmonization. I find it even helpful for non-chains too as it reduces switching between tabs.

The recent addition of suggest an edit also helps too! For basic road details, it has removed barriers that prior would have required a segment unlock in the forums. Somethings aren’t supported in the suggest an edit tool, so forum unlock still needed for things, but the goal is to bring more editing into suggest an edit.

*Now the EV chargers I think you’re referring to about is the ones in the feed on the left, those are feed imports, so right now they are locked to L3+ editors. They’re special in the sense that they have a backend dataset that syncs with another provider to have the plugs and charger quantity/speed up-to-date. We do need to go through them.
