Hello!
The section of Rajapere Street between Põlde St and Silgu St in the Haabersti district of Tallinn, Harju County, has been closed off with a barrier, but the map still directs traffic there. Please mark the road as closed (actually, the Silgu St section is also a private road) so that, for example, taxis will not be directed through this section in the future. Thank you!
Hello!
Who can use this barrier?
Only residents of the private road; the problem is that it directs everyone through a private road that can only be used by the residents of that street.
This entire area is already a private road and Waze does not use private roads for through-traffic on a route. Therefore, anyone driving there is driving from memory or using another navigation app.
However, Waze will guide you to a private road if your destination is located there, and it will stay that way.
One option would be to add a taxi-type restriction to the barrier; that might improve the situation slightly.
In the distant future, selecting the vehicle type should become more convenient, so local taxi drivers shouldn’t have an issue with it either. Though they could just use the private car type at the end of the workday anyway.
This won’t keep away guests, couriers, etc., if the destination is located within the area marked as a private road.
The reason I asked in the first place is that, according to Street View, a similar area already starts on Silgu Road, but that street isn’t marked as a private road.
