Every street in Evanston is showing the state as Utah

(unavailable attachment: Waze3.tiff)(unavailable attachment: Waze2.tiff)(unavailable attachment: Waze1.tiff)I didn’t want to touch anything, since it sounds like a huge issue, but can someone confirm what I’m seeing?

We are all seeing the same thing. Another editor brought it to attention yesterday on Google hangout. Was waiting to see if he submitted a form to waze to get it changed back.

Edit: a smudge city form has been submitted by dchary

I had some places in Schaumburg on South Roselle offering Utah Saturday; stopped doing it by Sunday. I just checked and Evanston has been firmly planted in the Beehive State for a week short of two months now.

Last check with the RC last week, we are to leave it alone for now.

Last time we did a raid on a city to change it, Waze finally came along and wiped it clean. Had to do it all over again.

Regardless of what the RC said, I just went in to remove Dave’s Italian Kitchen (they just announced they were closing as of last night after 44 years) and straightened up the places on that block Chicago Avenue. While I was in there, I changed them to Illinois. I then changed all segments of Chicago Avenue to Illinois.

People have been adding places as both states for 2 1/2 months now, so it’s already patchwork. As I do something in Evanston, I’ll change that street too.

I’ve run into a few situations where there’s no choice. If you need to add a PLR to solve a UR, or a new junction for a speed limit change in the middle of a long block, you can’t do it without setting the newly created segments to Illinois - they default to Utahm but won’t save because they’re too far from Utah (obviously Waze isn’t consulting its own map on this one!).

I think they’ve been busy making sure travelers in Israel don’t get routed through Palestinian settlements; especially soldiers. I get that priority.

Well, it’s finally back where it belongs.

I changed every place I could find back to Illinois that you guys hadn’t done, then updated all of the streets with speed limits. There was a handy list in their village code of all of the streets that deviated from their default 25 MPH speed limit.

I locked those few 20 MPH segments at my maximum, and used the section above to finish off the (and correct) the roads 30 MPH and up.

Is there a way to locate objects that still show as Utah to see if we missed anything?

Yes, by using Highlights script. Choose city to highlight, if Evanston, Utah comes up, there is still more. I also pick Highlight Places so it catches those too.

Found a couple here: https://www.waze.com/editor/?env=usa&lon=-87.69059&lat=42.06663&zoom=5&venues=178454949.1784615023.255261

Ah. I knew about that; I was hoping for a plug-in that displayed search results in a list, showing distance from current screen and address.

I went over the map and got about 20 places, mostly residential. Took 30 minutes with the fixes and I’m not sure I got all of them. I didn’t see the number change from zero, but it could have.

My main concern is surrounding communities. I saw Utah as an option while adding a place in Schaumburg, so people could have added Utah any number of places.
