Just wondering if anyone here in Hawaii or anyplace else is having this problem. I hit the app then it says “Initializing, please wait. Then It says” Failed to initialize. No Network connection. and on the top it says : Searching Network… Have not been able to connect since 10/28/2010. Thought it was a bug so I Deleted app re downloaded worked fine for awhile then the above happened. Do you think its on T-mobile’s end? thanks in advance.
Well other people can connect. Can’t speak to Hawaii, but can you try anything else on your phoen that requires a data connection? web browser? Do they work?
yes i tried the web browser to connect to my e-mail, Facebook, Twitter all work.
What model phone do you have? What version of the app?
Sorry about that. Forgot those things needed. Any way its a Motorolla Cliqe and the app version release 2.0.1.4 and thanks for the quick response.
Understand I’m not Waze support, who are reached through mailto:alpha@waze.com
And I’m probably going to suggest you email them. But it’s very peculiar. And maybe we can at least go through all the things that support will ask, so you can accelerate straight to the next step.
The good news is that it does work for many other people on that phone.
Here’s my suggestion. Uninstall the app, and go in and remove the waze install folder and look for any settings, etc, that are Waze related you can delete. I think it’s all in the one folder.
Install the latest beta 2.0.2.7 http://tiny.cc/and2027
And don’t install it to your SD card if you have the choice - install it to the phone memory.
Can you also confirm that GPS is working for other apps on your phone? With your correct location?
Final question. I’ve just been reading the source code and I think all queries go to a web service on port 80 (standard web browser port) at http://www.waze.com
So just confirm that in your phone web browser you can visit http://www.waze.com
Also try
settings > manage applications > Waze > clear data
That may be needed to be done every time, so that’s not a permanent solution, but a helpful diagnostic test.
Yes I understand you are not support. but another form of help. a great resource!
Thanks will try those thing and let you know later on.
Thanks
thanks everyone for thier support. I deleted application and reloaded newer application. It now works. yeah
