Logic flaw: The algorithm prioritizes Crit'Air sticker purchase warnings in France over suggesting an automatic reroute

When planning a long-distance route (e.g., 2,400 km) crossing France without the Crit’Air vignette configured, the algorithm insists on routing the car through the center of Lyon (ZFE), only issuing a warning to buy the sticker.

As a driver, if I haven’t entered that sticker, I expect the navigation system to automatically redirect me via the restriction-free bypass (A46), even if it involves a small toll (managed with my Via T). The system prioritizes the free section through the center over the vehicle’s legality, forcing manual stops to be configured. There should be a button to “Avoid emission zones if no badge is available”.

Additional details for case replication:

  • The vehicle is configured in the app with environmental badge B (Spain), an Umweltplakette (Germany), and an active Via T device.
  • Despite being allowed to use toll roads, the algorithm prefers the free route through the urban center (which requires Crit’Air) instead of automatically tracing the bypass via the A46 North (low-cost toll).
  • Please escalate this behavior to the global development team, as the current screen warning does not offer a real alternative for safe navigation for international transits without a local badge.
