Hi! If it’s not a private garage (of a house, for example) and is for public and/or general access, please provide a permalink to where you are trying to add it. Are you trying to add the place or a segment?
thanks for the reply! It’s not private, it’s a parking lot and I was trying to add the whole place.

Are you adding the polygon for the parking lot? Did you add the name? Did you check if it has the parking category assigned?

Right, I was trying to add that polygon. I added: address, name, category, and the driving entrance address. But it won’t let me save it.

I’m adding it now. Normally you should be able to; we haven’t heard from any other editors who are unable to. You have certain limitations due to your starting level, such as needing subsequent approval from other editors. You also have to have used Waze in that area in the last 60 days (which I’m sure is the case).
It should appear in the app between tomorrow and the day after tomorrow.
