Feature Request: AM identifier

This was recently conceived by local editor ScottZane, here (and perhaps by others before), finally putting in to words a wish I’ve had for a while. I’m adding a few possible variations and making a formal request.

Since the AM layer is currently unusable in some locations – trying to find the AM for a given area can mean quite a bit of scrolling around, so for Rank 4 editors and below with limited zoom range, and some AMs with Very Large Areas, the name may never practically be found – it would be nice if there were a way to determine all the AMs for the current window.

If there were a way to either display all AM’s for the given WME window in the left hand pane, or be able to highlight a node/segment, and perhaps use a keystroke to have that information display as a hover or in the left pane, it would be fantastically useful sometimes.

This might work best as a supplement to WCH, something like where the old Speed Data used to sit, and could be toggled on or off. I don’t think I’d want it going all the time.
I imagine a Validator variable could be added, or a column in the segment list in Toolbox, but the above option would be my first choice.

What say y’all?

YES! It’s almost impossible to find the name of any AM who has a large territory. When I’m replying to an Unlock or Update request in a geographic area where I’m less familiar, I often want to look up the local AMs, and either make contact myself, or suggest that to the poster of the request. Only AMs with tiny areas are (relatively) easy to find.

I don’t know what it would take to add AM identification/listing to a current script, but I think this suggested functionality would be incredibly useful.

Not much, I’m about 90% of the way to having it included in the next version of URO+…

Great news! I shall anticipate over here in the corner…

'tis done, go grab yourselves copies of URO+ 3.11.1

Call me a dummy, but I’m not seeing it in 3.12
I can hide the AM polygons, but with the setting either way, I’m not seeing the AM on the left when I select a segment. I see created and last update… that’s it.

The left window must be the ur menu . Press the ur tab on top like you going to change settings on uro. Them make sure AM layer is check. And by just moving mouse pointer over an area, you will see the AM users show on the bottom of the URO menu.

Ur = uro . Way to go auto correct spelling. Lol

Got it.
It is working properly.
