I’m ok with this. Again, I just have the 2 concerns:
- Roundabout segments don’t seem to have an acceptable way to work without counting the parking lot driveways on the southeast side as part of the sequence of roundabout exits. This has been tried in the past and generated a lot of URs, as drivers through the area inherently do not see those parking lot accesses as part of the sequence of circle exits.
- As a result of not using roundabout segments, navigating the circle is likely to involve a rapid series of stay to the left/stay to the right directions - likely too rapid to include all names on the signs posted and still be able to get the next instruction in time if using a voice that announces street names. My suggestion as an NJ driver of over 20 years: use only the highway names and omit the control cities when necessary to expedite instructions.
I’m willing to try #2 as an experiment - maybe make one side of it withe the standard control cities, the other side without, then BOTG a few routes to see how it turns out?
Can we get some more editors to chime in? Is everyone OK with lowering the circle to 4 and letting Odessit68 take charge?
How about a compromise: lower the circle to 5 and promote Odessit68 to 5?
I’m ok with lowering it to 4 as long as we have commitment from Odessit68 to follow through and implement agreed upon feedback. Knowing he’s a SM for PA, I want to make sure he’s in it to complete the project.
I can also participate in the boots on the ground tests, and agree with George on naming. As a frequent driver of this circle, I usually look for what highway I’m exiting at (eg, route 31, route 12) rather than control cities or other road names.

For the segments within the circle, there seems to be a be a mix of MH stubs and normal segments. My preference would be to use stubs like so so the long names are hidden from the ramp.
For naming, we should really follow the guidance and include “to” in front. Those 2 thoughts are the ones I’m strongly in favor of for consistency and to set an example on the map.
Another potential thought for discussion and consideration is whether we want to use Ramp segments as a WF around the circle. This would give the benefit of an announced exit right when you leave the circle, and also hide the names completely.
I have addressed George’s suggestions. I also changed the stubs to ramps, so you get exit right and stay left instructions at every exit. The only exception is continuation on US-202N. With drivers going straight to continue on 202 N, I’ve left it as MH, so the instruction will be to “keep right” rather than exit.
Watch out for BDP, especially on the “to …” prefix.
The Junction Angle script is actually useful for this - the color of the angle bubble will tell you what kind of instruction that turn will get, if any at all.
Project update?
Everything has been completed for three weeks now. No new URs so far.
I haven’t had a chance for BOG test.
