I have a request. The FM 51 road in the link below is set as primary street and locked at level 3. Can we change the road type to “Minor Highway”? I give the following reasons:
The road is 70 mph from the Holmes Dr. intersection to beyond the southern most point on the link.
When driving 70mph on the road at night it disappears off the map because it is such a small road. (See attachment) You can’t see the road on the phone at all compared to the screenshot.
Request denied. We are currently changing Texas to functional classification. Since TxDot labels FM 51 as a rural collector, it becomes a primary street. Roads in Texas are also being locked according to the standards set forth here.
I did read and understand your position (consistency for one) to follow the guidelines; however, I still disagree for the prior mention reasons (driving on invisible roads particularly). I was just trying to make Waze better for the actual users when using the APP.
The invisible roads in your screenshot is a tile not loading, by the way. Also, if you’re zoomed all the way out, or have your zoom to speed set to on, you won’t see those roads.
Incorrect, the tile is loading fine. The road is just not classed high enough to show at anything more than that thin black line at 70mph at that zoom level.
Zoom is set to auto, like I would imagine 90% of the Waze users have their APP set to. Speed limit on that road is 70mph. Anyone that has auto day/night on will see that they are driving on an invisible road at night.
Few exceptions / inconveniences for some people can not overwrite the consistency, improved routing and manageability that functional classification provides.
Therefore I have to say I am with txemt on this one. In the immortal words of Spock
