Good day all, Most Gas Stations in Jamaica are now mapped, but still no Gas Station Price Update feature has been enabled for the island… can anyone shed some light on this?
I thought I’d post an update in the correctly named thread -
There are now 89 gas stations mapped - out of 260 or thereabouts. Still lots of work to do!
As of 21st January, there are 164 gas stations mapped in Jamaica. Still plenty to do.
The list of certified petrol stations has now been removed from the website of the Ministry of Science Energy & Technology. However, there is now an interactive map which can show the exact locations of all the certified petrol stations.
There are now 253 petrol stations in Jamaica. I’ve added a comment to that effect to the Google Docs spreadsheet which tells us that we only have 164 gas stations marked - 64.8% coverage - so there’s quite a way to go before gas station pricing can be requested.
[Edit] Here’s the link to the MSET interactive map - http://mset.monagis.com/
Here’s a progress report.
In the last 6 months, we’ve now increased the number of gas stations on the Waze map to 169 (66.8%), a long way to go yet before we get gas prices enabled.
Another progress report…
Mapping has now been completed for 267 gas stations and gas pricing has been activated!
There are a number of gas stations shown on the MSE&T map for which I could find no supporting evidence. These have been mapped as map comments labelled Ghost [brand] gas station, so aren’t included in total number of gas stations.
