How do I get my business and business icon/logo to show in the map?
Hi. We volunteer Waze editors can get your location added to the map for navigational purposes. If you’re looking for an ad placement, you will need to reach out to Waze directly. Please check out this link: https://www.waze.com/business/
The other thing I wanted to point out to you is making sure Wazers can get to your business. The fastest way to make sure your business is correctly located on the map is for you to add it.
- When you’re at your business, open the Waze app.
- Go outside and tap the report button and choose Place.
- Take a photo of the outside of your business so Wazers can identify it when driving up. Remember, photos of the inside of the store, menus or signs on doors are not useful for Wazers who are driving to a destination. The photo should help them pick your storefront out of a lineup.
- If you see your business name, that’s great! Just tap the business and add the photo. You’ll be given more options to edit.
- If you don’t see your business, that’s okay too. Type the name of the business as you would expect Wazers to see it.
- Fill out as much information as you can, including address, phone number, hours, website, etc. The more information you can fill out, the better!
If you don’t want to try to add your business with the app, we can also help. Let us know the name of the business, your website, hours, phone number and we can help get it added too.

Hello, Would someone be able to assist me in getting my business added to the correct location in Waze? I attempted to add the business myself by following the steps above, but it is not showing and takes us to an ACE Hardware. It is an apartment community that was newly developed named The Adley Lakewood Ranch Waterside. The address is: 2401 Lakewood Ranch Boulevard Sarasota, Florida 34240. Thank you for any help!
Hi Davis_Development. According to the property appraiser website, the 2401 Lakewood Ranch Blvd location is at the intersection of Deer Dr and Lakewood Ranch Blvd. When looking at your website, it looks like it points to a subdivision address at 7824 Grande Shores Dr. If I use Google Maps to try to locate 2401 Lakewood Ranch Blvd, it goes to the intersection of Communications Parkway and Lakewood Ranch Blvd.
Can you help clarify this? What is the business you’re looking to add? Is it the apartment complex rental office? Can you also help me identify the correct location where you want this added?
Hello, Yes we are having an issue with google as well. I have a satellite image I can share with you that has a pinpoint for where the entrance to the apartment community is located. It is the apartment community / apartment community leasing office that is within the community that I am attempting to add. GPS coordinate for entrance - 27.35737, -82.44509
Thanks for that. Those coordinates took me right to the end of the road you were referring to. I can see where you attempted to add the rental office. We will get that approved and added. It should be on the map very soon.
Thank you! I wish google was as responsive and easy to work with as you! We have been waiting over a week for a response from them.
I went ahead and submitted the update on Google too. It should show up pretty quickly. When it’s on Google Maps, you’ll be able to “Claim this business”. They will end up sending a card with a code in the mail. Hopefully they update the missing roads there too.

Hello, Thank you for your previous help. It looks like we were able to get the listing verified, but google maps and waze do not take you all the way to the property. It looks like the pin point is correct where the property is located, but maybe the roads aren’t built in google and waze yet? Does anyone have the ability to add these roads? They are complete and finished with construction.

Can somebody please help me with my map location issue!, I was trying to add my business in the map and after I took the photo and add the custom name of my business the app crashed. After I tried to re-do he process instead of saying place there was showing me an issue on map and I couldn’t finish the process.

The name of the business is Sunparadise Hollywood Beach Resort and the address is 101 North Ocean Drive Hollywood, FL, 33019
I went ahead and took the liberty of adding Sun Paradise Hollywood Beach Resort to the Waze map. I noticed there was an Update Request there too, so I closed that, since I think it was directly related. The hotel should be visible fairly quickly. Just make sure you remove any instance from your search history.
I also noticed that there was a parking lot road that should have been connected to N Ocean Dr. That will show up in the app within a week or so.
Hi Randy, I tried again and the issue persist. It keeps showing a message that says: “No GPS reception, make sure you are outdoors”. And I was outside trying to set this up.
When you said that is going to be visible, is it going to look as an icon? Or how?
The place will show up when people search for it. As volunteers, we do not have any affect on advertisements icons or placement. If you wish to advertise on the Waze map, you will need to reach out to Waze directly. https://www.waze.com/business/
As for your GPS issue… that is an app bug. We volunteers work on editing the map and have no tools to help resolve issues with your app and phone. I do know that if you’re using an iPhone, you can try force-closing the app, maybe rebooting the phone or something else. If you are still experiencing issues, you will want to report it directly to Waze. https://support.google.com/waze/answer/6276841?hl=en
