Hi all,
A few weeks ago there was an exit missing to a housing area at the Brisbane Road minor motorway here: https://www.waze.com/editor/?zoom=5&lat=-27.92319&lon=153.35593&layers=1669&env=row
The exit has been added by a generous Waze editor, I have to thank for that. I then added some ramps at intersection and two roads leading to and from that exit which cross the motorway. The motorway is a Lvl 3 so I can’t connect these junctions and add roads across the motorway because I am a Lvl 1 editor.
Firstly welcome to Waze and helping to improve the map. (and finding the AU Unlock and Update Requests section of the forum. )
Now just a few things to point out. It appears you modified this intersection on the 12th May and because we have had a delay in map updates routing was working until the recent update and now it’s broken.
The following are Red Roads because you have not added a street name and/or suburb to them.
You have split the following roads, unfortunatley in this case they do not meet the rules to be split and will need to be changed back.
The use of ramps in this particular situation is incorrect and should be changed to street types. Please have a read of the At Grade Connections section of the Wiki.
When adding new roads, such as this one, please check that the turn restrictions have been set correctly.
I have dropped the levels of the highway so you can fix up things up.
That looks much better, only thing is you don’t need to add the number of the street and you need to abbreviate the street name. I have fixed these up and relocked the highway.
I’m not sure you are going to get the desired turn commands with the angles of the connectors. Have a look at this page and see if yo will get what you think is right when entering that area: https://wiki.waze.com/wiki/Junction_Style_Guide/Intersections
For the sake of the argument, do you think that it’s really worth the effort to split Marble Arch Pl?
While it correctly follows the aerial of the map, it over-complicates things, especially since it’s only leading into the intersection.
Marble arch was already split up before I started editing. I thought I’d just leave it as it is. I agree the split looks a bit weird. I’ll fix it up tomorrow.
