Now travelling west on Granard Rd onto Ipswich Rd Outbound, I receive an Exit to Ipswich Mtwy… instruction from the TTS.
I personally would expect a Keep Left instruction rather than a Exit instruction. Is this due to the Ramp being used? Should we use a Major Highway section for the highlighted section?
I’m happy for one of our Country Managers to make the call (make the change) on this one if they agree with my thoughts.
Does it really do that? It’s also a road I frequently travel on going to work and home, and it used to be ok.
Preferably it should be keep right and keep left, but that change has come because you upgraded the road to a ‘Major Highway’.
To counter-act the TTS wording, I’ve changed the last bit of the road back to a Primary Road. This should in theory fix things as it won’t see the junction as a Major Highway with off-ramps…
Ouch…sorry, it’s not my style to interfear, especially with the doings of a fellow CM, but that’s not a good idea to introduce a primary segment. Also according to Junction style guide you are producing an exit left and exit right in doing the split in the ramp section - so opposite of what you wanted.
The thing has to be done the other way around (first split and then bring down the roadtype ), I just had to change the primary back to a Major (and merge it with the previous again). To make sure to get the route instruction I set the angle to some 30° each side.
Sorry again, but I thougt it in the interest of the result as necessary
