Grand Ave & Foothill Blvd intersection is closed for most of November due to Metro construction. The City is getting multiple complaints of drivers in residential in residential streets that are not thru-streets and having to u-turn.
From northbound Grand, drivers are turning onto W. Ada Ave, W. Heber St., and W. Leeside St.
If possible, please route drivers away from Grand Avenue and away from the residential neighborhoods.

Thanks for your notes! I was actually just working on that intersection.
Because some of the things we change on the map take a day or so to implement, I’ve fully closed the Foothill/Grand intersection until tomorrow night, at which point the two right turns from Foothill to Grand will become available for the duration of the intersection closure (indicated as November 10 in the Metro release) but all other movements will be restricted.
Depending on where drivers begin and end their navigation, Waze may or may not use residential neighborhoods from this point forward, but for most routes, Waze should avoid that area unless destinations are very local.

I’ve tested several sets of directions in that area, and Waze avoided the neighborhoods, but we wanted to follow-up anyway. Those streets I listed are not thru-streets, and will just re-route drivers back to Grand.
