Hi guys,
Just wanted to drop by and say hello, and maybe a few words about future Waze projects in Greece.
As you noticed, we are seeing a huge increase in Waze usage in Greece in the last several months.
More and more People starting to use Waze on a daily basis, and we see more and more Wazers editing the map and contributing to the rest of the community in Greece.
Although it looks and feels like magic, it’s not - The reason that we see this increase of usage is due to your hard work of mapping, fixing problems, adding information (like toll roads) and more.
So far you guys did a wonderful and amazing work. Respect.
The Champ group is a group of elite Wazers. The top Wazers of each country have this council of Champs, where they support the Wazers in the country by giving them advises, helping their issues and making them feel at home.
The Champ group is also the the group who lead the community and creates the guidelines of usage and mapping in the country - We, at Waze HQ, leave you the space to run the affair of the community as you have the best knowledge and are familiar with local users and editors.
So what’s next on our agenda?
- Gas Prices - This project started not so long ago, and we see a major increase of the mapped GS in Greece. I hope I’ll have more numbers in the coming days.
- Self Management - You, the Champs, will have the ability to approve new area managers, promote or demote editors and make sure the editors follow the guidelines that you created.
- Meetup - We are thinking of having a Waze regional meetup around January 2015. We are still working on the plans for this meetup, but we would be happy to see you guys participate in it - The bonus is that if you do participate, Waze will fly you to the meetup and pay for the hotel stay (cool eh?)
As for my availability for response in the forum - I’ll be honest with you: It’s very hard for me to follow all the posts, all the PM and mails from all around the world and in different languages. Please don’t be mad at me if it takes me some time to answer.
