I have a question regarding Waze Map Editor. I work for a small car wash company that recently bought one of our competitor’s car washes. We have already remodeled and rebranded this newly purchased site.
When I type the newly rebranded business address into Waze Map Editor, the old business name/information still shows up. I do not seem to have the ability to edit or even suggest an edit to any of this property’s information on Waze Map Editor (my cursor turns turns into a red circle with a line going through it; all the text boxes are greyed out as well).
Does anybody know why I am unable to do anything in this case? I have even tried to report the business as being closed (so I could input the correct/new business information), but I don’t seem to have this option, either.
Any help would be greatly appreciated!
Have you driven there with Waze running in the past 90 days? If you haven’t, then you won’t have edit rights to add or modify a place in the map editor.
You may be able to make edits through the app, but if you tell us where it is and what the updates are, then someone can make the edits for you.
Thank you for the reply - that was very helpful! I thought I had posted a response to your message, but it looks like my response didn’t go through. I have not physically been to three of our locations in the past 90 days, and these are the sites that I am unable to edit.
The addresses for these three sites are as follows:
3711 East Franklin Blvd, Gastonia, NC 28056
1001 Dallas-Cherryville Hwy, Dallas, NC 28034
1101 N Bragg Boulevard, Spring Lake, NC 28390
The business name for each of these names should read as RipTide Car Wash. Car wash should be selected as the sole category for the business. The business description should read as follows: “At RipTide Car Wash, we strive to provide the most convenient and affordable way to clean your vehicle. Our facilities shine, our employees shine, and our customers shine!”
I am trying to get some of my fellow area managers to set their Waze app permissions to allow the app to always track their location so that they may hopefully be able to make these changes too.

I am glad to inform you that the issue has been resolved and the necessary changes have been made in the Waze app. The updated version will be available within the next two days.
