Do we need to have a discussion regarding Places in Hawaii, or do we just adhere to the national standard. The reason I ask is that I’ve seen several area places that should be point places. So do we need to review them and adjust the Hawaii Wiki page accordingly? (i.e. https://wiki.waze.com/wiki/Connecticut/Landmarks)
I see no reason to depart from the national standards. I’ve been trying to correct Places incorrectly typed as areas when I come across them.
Although most of my time lately has been spent dealing with Waze support on the recurrent saving/error issues with approving new Places. That problem has subsided — for the moment.
By the way: I’m glad to see the Connecticut link, which has some good information on Place naming style, but at the bottom of the newer Places Wiki page is the current point/area chart:
Not to hijack my own thread, but, OMG! For me, that problem has NOT subsided. Errors on saves, saves reverting to previous states requiring multiple changes/saves, places disappearing after saves. I’m really frustrated and close to just giving up :x :x
Well, I feel your pain. All the things you mention haven’t gone away for me, either. I’ve found, though, that if you reload and try multiple times, now it eventually will save. Whereas in recent weeks, NOTHING I could do would budge it.
I’ve had a couple of friendly email exchanges with Support. I think I’ll tell ol’ Natalie that things are still pretty funky.
It seems we’re on a separate server, along with Puerto Rico and dunno where else, where there have been similar problems. I sure hope it stabilizes soon.
